Niall - morning playtime

Niall is wide awake at sunrise, so we are starting to get up and let him "play" for a couple of hours each morning. Dad suspended one of his toys... his "whoozawhatzit" from a string and he watches it bounce and spin. This keeps him smiling, kicking and laughing for a solid hour or two.

Here's a couple of pics from New Year's Eve at the Chihade's house - some good friends of ours. Niall loves a roudy party - the noisier the better. He didn't cry at all until well into 2008!

We found a new way to make Niall smile this week - he really likes sitting in this little bouncy chair. We thought it might be too big for him, but he fits in it just fine. He seems to really enjoy just hanging out in it... which gives Mom a break from holding him!

Here's a sampling of Niall's cry - it's been described as a sing-song cry... it's music to our ears at 3 in the morning. That's for sure.

Niall gets his extraordinarily full head of hair washed

Here's our post-partum Doula, Akai, teaching Melissa how to wash Niall's crown jewel - his beautifully full head of hair. Niall has a bright future as a baby hair model. We have found that it looks better done up in gel than mousse.
