Niall had a blast today playing in his new swing. Within 5 minutes of Dad hanging it in the doorway, Niall had it figured out - swinging and bouncing and laughing. He's going to have some strong little legs soon!

Here's Niall getting all dressed up in his new corduroy pants & a fresh polo shirt. He loves going out to dinner with Mom & Dad - especially if it's a busy, noisy restaurant. The noisier the better!
Of course, Niall gets a lot attention when he goes out in public. The most popular comment from his many fans -- "look at all that hair!"

Here's Niall before the service - wearing his handmade bonnet & gown that his Grandma Fowler made him for the special day. Mom is rubbing his eyebrows trying to lull him to sleep -- and it worked! Niall slept through the whole service right up until he felt someone putting something cold & wet on his forehead. He woke up, let out a little cry and went right back to sleep.

Niall loves chocolate... and so does Rocky!

Well, we caught Niall getting into our chocolate stash today - his first tast of solid foods! Actually, Dad just gave him a couple licks and smeared the rest on his face so that the boys could trick Mom into thinking that Niall had eaten her chocolate bar. He did seem to like the taste though! He is looking pretty guilty here....
We cleaned off his face, but apparently Rocky still smelled a little - Niall likes getting occasional kisses from Rocky.

Niall Chillin' Out in the "hot tub"

Here's Mr. Niall... very relaxed in his new "hot tub". These new baby bathtubs fit right in the sink and look very comfortable. Too bad they don't have this style of tub for adults!

More Playtime with Smiley Nially

During the week, Niall only gets to see his dad for a few hours a day. He usually wakes up at 7am on the dot and is ready to play. By 8am, it's time for dad to go to work, and Niall is ready to go back to bed. In between, he is full speed ahead playtime! At 6pm, it's the same routine over again... intense playing & laughing and then at some point Niall hits a wall and is ready to eat, eat, eat and then sleep. He's pretty predictable these days, but lots of fun when he is wide awake!

Niall at almost 3 months

Niall will be 3 months old in just a few days. This morning he spent some time kicking around - he has gotten pretty adept at kicking objects with his feet. He's working on sitting upright, but can only hold his big heavy head straight for a minute and then he gets tired.
He does not like being on his stomach! This is usually how he reacts once he realizes he can't kick his legs around the way he wants. He can already almost roll himself over onto his back.
Aaah! Back on his back for some more play time.

Niall - morning playtime

Niall is wide awake at sunrise, so we are starting to get up and let him "play" for a couple of hours each morning. Dad suspended one of his toys... his "whoozawhatzit" from a string and he watches it bounce and spin. This keeps him smiling, kicking and laughing for a solid hour or two.

Here's a couple of pics from New Year's Eve at the Chihade's house - some good friends of ours. Niall loves a roudy party - the noisier the better. He didn't cry at all until well into 2008!

We found a new way to make Niall smile this week - he really likes sitting in this little bouncy chair. We thought it might be too big for him, but he fits in it just fine. He seems to really enjoy just hanging out in it... which gives Mom a break from holding him!
